What are the park's opening times?

What is Lapland Winter Park and where is it located?

Lapland Winter Park is a winter amusement park located 15 minutes by car from the center of Rovaniemi, in Nivankylä (Olleronvaarantie 160, 96100 Rovaniemi, Finland). The park offers a variety of winter activities, accommodation, restaurant services and experiences for all ages.

Does Lapland Winter Park offer shuttle services?

Yes, we do. We have a shuttle bus that runs daily from Rovaniemi city center and via Santa Claus Village to our park and back. You can also request private transportation with our mini buses. You can find up-to-date schedules and routes here.

Is Lapland Winter Park open all year round?

The park is open during the winter season from early December to late March. During the summer season, the park offers wellness and nature activities such as saunas, e-fatbike safaris and yoga or massage services upon special request. Accommodation is available from early November to late March, but depending on the snow conditions of the season, not all activities may be available.

Can I get to the park by public transport?

There is currently no direct public transport to the park, but our free shuttle bus service is available. There is also a chance for a private transportation in Rovaniemi area with our mini vans (1+7 travellers) and you can request this service by contacting us directly. What happens if weather conditions change?

Lapland Winter Park is open regardless of the weather conditions, but some activities may change or be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions. Guests will be informed of any changes via the park's website and social media. Nevertheless, we highly recommend a travel insurance when arriving, as we cannot predict the weather and the outdoors conditions. Even if the temperature and conditions change significantly, there is always plenty of space to warm up. In addition, there are also items such as hats and warm gloves available for purchase in the area.

Is it possible to stay in the area?

Yes, it is possible to stay at Lapland Winter Park from 1 November 2025. 20 accommodation units will be built in the area. There are also other accommodation providers in the area, from which it is easy to reach Lapland Winter Park within walking distance.

Experiences

What is special about Lapland Winter Park?

Lapland Winter Park offers the city's longest slide, a fairy-tale forest with snow sculptures, and the opportunity to view the Northern Lights without light pollution. The park also utilizes local Lapland themes and offers an authentic Arctic nature experience close to the center of Rovaniemi. Lapland Winter Park wants to offer the whole family a memorable experience amidst the beautiful nature of Lapland.

What experiences are available in the park?

Lapland Winter Park offers a wide range of winter activities, restaurant services, accommodation and transport services. An up-to-date list of services can be found on our website.

Are the experiences suitable for children?

Yes, the park has several activities suitable for children. You can find age recommendations in the products section. Our staff strives to provide activities for the whole family throughout the day.

Is the Rovaniemi Sauna World available to all guests?

Yes, but sauna world is an additional service. You can find the current price and contents of the sauna ticket on the sauna world website. Our sauna is unisex, so a swimsuit is mandatory.

How do you prepare for the absence of the northern lights?

Although the Northern Lights are a major attraction in Lapland, they cannot be guaranteed. However, there are other magical experiences in the park that provide an Arctic experience despite the Northern Lights. The starry sky is very admirable on cloudless days. Northern Lights applications downloaded to your phone give a good indication of when the Northern Lights will be visible.

Is Lapland Winter Park safe for small children?

Yes, the park is designed for visitors of all ages. There are designated, safe areas for children, including experiences designed for children. Staff supervise activities, but parental presence is recommended for younger children.

Can I come to the sauna world with children?

Yes, the sauna world is family-friendly, and children are welcome to use the sauna accompanied by their parents. However, it is good to note that some of the saunas may be hot for small children. Parents should ensure that children do not burn themselves in the sauna and that no harm occurs in the pools.

Are there any places in the area suitable for viewing the northern lights?

Yes, Lapland Winter Park has a special opportunity to see the Northern Lights, as we are away from the city's light pollution.

Can I participate in all activities with one ticket?

The area ticket covers most activities, which you can find information about here. Some special activities, such as ice karting, sauna world, reindeer rides and children's mini snowmobiles, have an additional fee, and more information about them can be found here.

Are there guided tours available in the park?

Yes, Lapland Winter Park offers guided tours for a separate fee, where experts tell you about the nature, culture and history of the area. Tours can be tailored to different languages.

Is there equipment available for rent in the park?

No, there is no equipment rental at the park. Equipment is included in the price for some activities, such as sliding, snowshoeing, skating, skiing, and cycling.

Restaurant

Is there any food service available in the park?

Yes, our park has a full restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. In addition, there is a separate a la carte menu and full liquor license.

Are there vegan or vegetarian options available in the park?

Yes, our restaurant can accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements and allergies. As long as we are informed in advance, we can easily offer vegan and vegetarian options, so that every guest can enjoy the taste of Lapland.

Can I bring my own snacks to Lapland Winter Park?

Bringing your own food is not allowed. For babies and toddlers, your own food is allowed, as well as for children with special diets. The park area has campfire sites and hut buildings where you can buy snacks and drinks on site, e.g. sausages or marshmallows.

The area and safety

Is the park safe?

Yes, safety is a priority in the park. Staff is always easily accessible and trained in first aid and emergency management, and the park has clear safety instructions for visitors. It is also safe for wild animals to move around in the park. The nearest hospital is about 15 minutes away. The park employees are Finnish with personal experience in winter activities and their implementation.

Are there first aid services in the park?

Yes, there are first aid stations in the park, and staff are trained to provide assistance if needed. First aid equipment is also available at several points, including plasters, bandages, and defibrillators.

Is Lapland Winter Park accessible for people with disabilities?

The park is partially accessible, as there is barrier-free access to the lounge, toilets and fairy forest paths. Saunas and huts require a personal assistant. However, our staff is very aware of the situation, and we strive to implement, for example, personal motorized transportation in the area with our equipment.

Are there childcare facilities in the park?

Childcare facilities can be found in the lounge building, next to the toilets. And warm spaces include the hut restaurant and huts.

Is Lapland Winter Park a non-smoking area?

Yes, Lapland Winter Park is a smoke-free area. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas and all visitors are expected to follow the non-smoking policy.

Is Lapland Winter Park pet-friendly?

Yes, guide dogs and other assistance animals are welcome in the park. Unfortunately, other pets are not allowed to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals in the park.

What is the park's waste management system like?

Lapland Winter Park adheres to strict sustainability principles. Recycling and environmentally friendly practices are a key part of the park's operations. There are several garbage bins located throughout the park and we ask that our guests do not litter. We are also committed to the Biosphere Sustainable Travel certification.

Is there Wi-Fi in the park?

Yes, Lapland Winter Park offers free Wi-Fi in selected areas so guests can share their experiences and stay connected with their loved ones.

What if I or someone else gets hurt?

Before arriving in the area, make sure you have valid travel insurance and what it covers. When moving around the area, you should take into account the slippery conditions in winter, although the area maintenance team tries to ensure that slippery conditions do not come as a surprise.

Is it possible to buy souvenirs in the park?

Yes, there is a sales point in the park where you can buy local crafts, souvenirs, and Lapland specialties, such as sauna products and Lappish delicacies.

How does the park take sustainable development into account?

Lapland Winter Park is committed to sustainable tourism. The park uses renewable energy sources, such as geothermal energy, and strives to reduce its environmental impact by recycling waste and using energy-efficient solutions. The park has been built with respect for nature, for example, the trees we have cut down have been carefully considered. We are also a Biosphere-certified company.

What kind of clothing is recommended for the park?

We recommend dressing in layers and wearing weatherproof winter clothing, as the activities mainly take place outdoors. The park also has plenty of heated spaces, such as hut buildings, a restaurant and a lounge, where you can comfortably warm up. A swimsuit is mandatory for the sauna world.

Private events

Can private events be held in the park?

Yes, Lapland Winter Park offers the possibility to organize private events, such as family celebrations, corporate events and even weddings. Private events can be tailored to the wishes of the customers. We always want to tailor the events to the wishes and offer even more.

Can birthday parties be held in the park?

Yes, the park can host birthday parties for children and adults with special packages that include activities, food and surprises. Please contact customer service to customize your party. We are also happy to accommodate smaller celebrations.

Ordering, prices and refunds

How much does the Area ticket cost and what does it include?

How can I buy tickets?

Tickets can be purchased in advance via the Lapland Winter Park website at www.laplandwinterpark.com. Walk-in customers are also welcome, tickets can be purchased on site at our reception building.

Can I change the date of my reservation?

Yes, the date of your booking can be changed under certain conditions, if the changes are made in sufficient time. Please contact customer service for more information.

Can I pay with mobile payments in the park?

Yes, Lapland Winter Park accepts common mobile payment methods, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, to make paying as hassle-free as possible.

Is it possible to pay with cards in the park?

Yes, you can pay for all services and activities in the park with most common debit and credit cards. You don't necessarily need to bring cash.
